You can order backup CDs or DVDs of all your photos & video clips — or just the ones in certain subject categories, or a single gallery.
CD backups are $11.99 for the first 650MB, plus $10.50 for each additional 650MB, plus shipping.
DVD backups are $22.00 for the first 1GB, plus $3.50 for each additional 1GB, plus shipping.
After you've logged in, simply navigate to your homepage (to back up everything) and look for the Order Backup button near the top of the page:
You'll also find an order backup option in the Gallery Tools Menu, which will allow you to back up just that gallery. Or, use the Order Backup button on any category or subcategory page to back up just that category or subcategory.
You'll be taken to an order page that lets you choose CDs or DVDs. Click on it and prices will be calculated based on how much space you require.

What are backup discs?
Computer-readable compact discs/DVDs containing your original high-resolution photos. Photo files are exact copies unless you used SmugMug to crop, rotate, or color-correct them. In that case, they are your edited versions. Video clips are converted to h.264 format when you add them to SmugMug. Backup discs contain the converted clips.
How are my photos arranged on the disc?
Each category, subcategory, and gallery has its own folder. Gallery folders are grouped under subcategories, subcategories under categories. Photos are in gallery folders.
How are they named?
Each filename contains the unique SmugMug number of your photo/video combined with the original file name of your photo when it was uploaded.
Should I choose CDs or DVDs?
CDs are less expensive per disc but hold less (640 megabytes versus 4.5 gigabytes). Much depends on how many photos/videos you intend to backup. When you order, you're given the choice with prices.
Can I view them using my DVD player?
Unfortunately, probably not. Because they are optimized for the maximum storage readable by computers, it's unlikely they will play on your DVD player.
What payment methods do you accept for backup discs?
Visa, Mastercard or Discover. You will be asked to enter payment information as you place the order. We don't automatically bill the card on file for your SmugMug account.
